Ingredients

  • 16 oz uncooked pata
  • 4 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 24 oz tomato sauce (I use garden combo pasta sauce)
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Grated parmesan cheese and fresh basil for serving, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta al dente according to package directions.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, add butter/oil to a skillet over medium high heat. Add in garlic and cook until fragrant, stirring constantly (~1 minute).
  3. Add in the tomato paste, tomato sauce, cream, and Italian seasoning. Stir until smooth. Turn the heat to low and let simmer until thickened to your liking (at least 5 minutes).
  4. Once pasta is ready, drain and stir into the sauce. Season sauce with salt and pepper as needed, and add in the parmesan. Top with fresh basil to serve. (Tip: If sauce is too acidic, stir in a pinch of sugar!)
