Ingredients
- 16 oz uncooked pata
- 4 tbsp butter or olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp tomato paste
- 24 oz tomato sauce (I use garden combo pasta sauce)
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Grated parmesan cheese and fresh basil for serving, to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta al dente according to package directions.
- While the pasta is cooking, add butter/oil to a skillet over medium high heat. Add in garlic and cook until fragrant, stirring constantly (~1 minute).
- Add in the tomato paste, tomato sauce, cream, and Italian seasoning. Stir until smooth. Turn the heat to low and let simmer until thickened to your liking (at least 5 minutes).
- Once pasta is ready, drain and stir into the sauce. Season sauce with salt and pepper as needed, and add in the parmesan. Top with fresh basil to serve. (Tip: If sauce is too acidic, stir in a pinch of sugar!)
